About this artwork
At the beginning of the first lockdown in UK (March 2020) after the nowhere man character had just left us, I found myself sketching in my local park. This dead tree became the focus of my attention and I became fascinated by the way it would look so different each time depending on the time of day and the angle it was viewed from. I produced many drawings of it in my sketchbook, but only five additional pieces were made in my studio before I moved on to the painting ‘There’s This Place On The Edge Of Town’, where you can see versions of the tree.
These five accompanying preliminary works consisted of x4 cut out oil works plus x1 XL painting.
So here is the one and only blue cutout tree piece from this body of work. Painted on found cardboard.
